Bio We are On My Honor, a pop punk band from Knoxville, Tennessee. We began in early 2007, simply wanting to make honest music we enjoy and share it with people; to make other people feel how our favorite bands make us feel everyday. We wanted to bring good, fun shows to our hometown and bring back what we thought was sorely lacking in an age of disingenuous myspace bulletin bands with third person biographies about soaring vocals and rumbling bass lines, who focus more on faking myspace friends than playing music. With a serious lineup solidified by summer 2007, we recorded our first EP entitled Lift Your Guns and Smile in October 2007 at NightSong Studios (www.nightsongstudio.com). We sold hundreds of copies, just at local shows, in the coming weeks with no promotion or online sales, and we saw our show attendance increase significantly. We felt we had outgrown our EP very quickly, recording and releasing a four song demo for the full-length album we had already began writing. One of these songs was featured on a Future Destination records compilation. We also began touring the eastern U.S., getting our first taste of sleeping on random floors, breaking down three times a day, and getting robbed by people on bicycles. As the new year started, we saw a disappearance of most of our local venues. We started renting out an old theater in our hometown and putting on our own shows, as there was nowhere else to have them. We began to get attention from our local media for our efforts and we started drawing in the 400 range. By summer 2008 we had all been together a full year, released two discs, were having great hometown shows, and were playing shows all over the country. We decided to put it all together for a summer tour that spanned 26 cites in 30 days. We spent over $1,000 on oil from an unfixable leaky gasket, broke down or overheated at least once a day and had the best time of our lives. We came back for a few weeks and went out again, covering the east coast for the second time that summer. We played regionally while writing for our full-length until December, when we did another tour that covered mostly the southeast. We started 2009 with a strong resolve to finish writing our full-length, spending most of January and February doing pre-production demos, having nervous breakdowns, and trying to build up our local music scene, continuing our shows at The Ritz Theater. We went in March 2009 to spend a month with well known local producer Miah at The Sound Liar (www.soundlair.com) to make the album we’d be working on for over a year. After five weeks of 8 to 12 hour days, and about 6,000 dollars we came up with, we had our new full-length album The Good, The Bad, and Getting By. Five weeks later, we booked and accomplished a full U.S. tour that spanned the entire U.S. from Florida to Los Angeles and back again. We played a full week of sets at the 2009 Cornerstone Festival, and got picked to play a spot on this year's Vans Warped Tour in Charlotte North Carolina, four hours from our hometown, followed by another east coast tour. Everything we have goes into this band. We live together, tour together, and spend most every minute of every day together in one form or another, writing music, playing shows, or stapling flyers to telephone poles. Our goal as a band has only changed slightly since the beginning, just adding the hope that we can make a career out of what we love without losing sight of why we started. We take pride in making good relationships everywhere we go, playing fun, energetic shows, making records that mean a lot to us and to other people and conducting ourselves in a professional way without being pretentious or fake. This is all we want. Thanks for being part of the family, On My Honor
