Bio We are On My Honor, a pop punk band from Knoxville, Tennessee. We began in early 2007, simply wanting to make honest music we enjoy and share it with people; to make other people feel how our favorite bands make us feel everyday. We wanted to bring good, fun shows to our hometown and bring back what we thought was sorely lacking in an age of disingenuous myspace bulletin bands with third person biographies about soaring vocals and rumbling bass lines, who focus more on faking myspace friends than playing music.
We recorded and self-released out first EP, Lift Your Guns & Smile, in the fall of 2007. After the great reception and support from our hometown to the EP, we began touring the eastern U.S., getting our first taste of sleeping on random floors, breaking down three times a day, and getting robbed by people on bicycles.
As the new year started, we saw a disappearance of most of our local venues. Through the community and other bands, we were able to help find movie theaters, coffee houses, community centers and the like to host shows. In the summer of 2008, we went out for our first summer tour that spanned 26 cites in 30 days. We spent countless quarts of oil on an unfixable leaky gasket, broke down or overheated at least once a day and had the best time of our lives. We came back for a few weeks and went out again, covering the east coast for the second time that summer.
In 2009, after touring through more of the winter, we recorded our first full-length, "The Good, The Bad, and Getting By." Five weeks later, we booked and accomplished a full U.S. tour that spanned the entire U.S. from Florida to Los Angeles and back again. We played a full week of sets at the 2009 Cornerstone Festival, and got picked to play a spot on the Vans Warped Tour in Charlotte, North Carolina, followed by another east coast tour.
We began 2010 much the same, beginning with a coast to coast tour after a couple of line-up changes. Most of this year has been spent touring, including an acoustic run of dates for Hot Topic, and writing for a new EP that we hope to record this fall.
Everything we have goes into this band. We live together, tour together, and spend most every minute of every day together in one form or another, writing music, playing shows, or stapling flyers to telephone poles. Our goal as a band has only changed slightly since the beginning. We take pride in making good relationships everywhere we go, playing fun, energetic shows, and making records that mean a lot to us and hopefully to other people.
Thanks for being part of the family, On My Honor
