Turn your band expenses into Tax Deductions

My name is Aaron and I have been playing in bands in Sacramento for the last 15 years. I currently play guitar in Another Damn Disappointment and The Golden Cadillacs.

I have my own tax accounting business and have devised a great system for how to make all of the costs associated with running a band provide a nice tax write off. This is something that applies to almost every band, especially in the EIY scene because we are not making millions playing in bands (at least not yet!) and we all have day jobs to pay the bills. Knowing that your band expenses provide tax savings can also encourage you to go ahead with the large up-front costs of recording, CD duplication, etc. I apologize for the length of this article but I feel it is necessary in order to properly explain this issue in a way which will make your extra efforts pay off...
