Honesty and Respect

If you join the EIY website and community, it is because you have a desire to build a foundation of trust, honesty, respect, and integrity within a community of adults. This is not the place for spam, for personal attacks, or for abuse of others' privacy and rights as human beings. Be logical, be reasonable, be respectful, be honest. Uberrimae fidei!

Rules and Guidelines

If you still need a sense of your boundaries while using the site, here are a bunch of examples to help clarify:

NO pornography or sexually explicit content.

NO dangerous or illegal activity.

NO graphic or gratuitous violence.

DO NOT upload any content that you did not create yourself, including music, article, and images. If you do, the content AND you will be deleted from the site.

DO NOT use derogatory language, hate speech, slurs or the malicious use of stereotypes intended to attack or demean a particular gender, sexual orientation, race, religion, or nationality. If you do, the comments AND you will be deleted from the site.

DO NOT attempt to stalk, threaten, harass, or otherwise invade or compromise the privacy of our users. If you do, you will be permanently banned from the site and we will call Dateline to set you up on one of their shows.

DO NOT try to cheat the system. Not only is cheating the complete antithesis of the Earn It Yourself philosophy, but it's also lame. NO spam, NO fake accounts, and NO misrepresentation of the truth in any way shape or form. If you do this, you will be deleted from the site and posted on the Wall of Shame.

It is sad that we live in a world where people are so stupid that they don't fundamentally understand what is right and wrong. It's too bad we don't all still live in caves, because then the stupid people would get eaten by lions and only the smart people would survive to create websites like this one. If you see someone stupid doing something that is wrong, tell us. Violations of the Terms of Use may result in a warning notification, or we might just terminate your account and delete all of your content without even telling you. We are the dictators, we decide whether we believe your violation of our Terms of Use should result in termination of your account, we run a tight ship and we don't mess around.
