   Oh cool. Look, you left it up to the promoters in pittsburgh. Guess what? The promoter choose all bands that didn’t “do it themselves,” but choose their friends who they know will sell tickets. Nice job turning something that is supposed to be a “do it yourself” chance for bands into a money grab, again.

     Three of the four bands that got booked on that show were nominated by other bands to play the showcase! Not sure where you got your information, but we definitely went through all the submissions and worked with each promoter to make sure nominated bands got on the bill. Furthermore, the promoters on this tour are making the least amount of money from ticket sales. Most of the money from tickets will cover venue hard costs first, then gets split between the promoter and the tour. After that, I will be paying each band out of the tour’s cut from the door. The tickets are cheap and the event, the tour, and the people behind the tour are as honest as they can get. That all being said: did your band nominate anyone, or were you nominated by anyone? If so, we can tell you exactly why we didn’t pick you for the showcase. Hope to see you at the meet-up!

   Hey. I’m sorry if you guys feel slighted on this but we worked closely with EIY to decide the best acts for the show. All of the bands nominated were reviewed first by EIY, then we worked together to decided who would be best from a small list of acts. I am proud to be a part of the EIY showcase because it is an honest competition unlike many other music competitions out there and not at all just a “money grab”. As Sarah said with the low ticket price, the majority of the profits on the show will be going toward the facility costs and the tour’s travel expenses. Sorry if we couldn’t get you guys on this….

   Thanks. Thanks a million. You guys rule, and its good people like you that keep my faith in the underground music scene. I know you guys don’t get a whole lot of praise, so I thought I’d take the time to let you know that- Hey… some of us appreciate what you’re doing.

   First of all, this is a really great thing you guys are doing, I only wish that Seven Ten Oil would have caught wind of this before the nominations closed. I know our area will not be properly represented because the really busy bands, didn’t catch this in time. I’m not sure how the nominations went, but it is apparent that our local politics came into play. We just beat out our whole state to win and play with KISS last year in Virginia Beach. I’m really surprised that we didn’t catch wind of this. We have been beating the Battle of the Bands to death and are sitting in third overall for our venue in Virginia Beach for that. Well above any of the bands listed. Should something happen and you need another band for the Virginia Beach show, please consider Seven Ten Oil. We have proven time and time again that we are worthy of a spot. Just seems like it’s always the same people involved when stuff like this happens and it’s hushed til too late. But now I am aware of this opportunity. It’s a cool thing. Just wish we had known. But it doesn’t surprise me one bit who the bands are given the venue and promoters involved. Hell I’m not even sure if half of them ever even play out. Ive been playing this scene for over 15 years and have maybe heard of one of them. Hope to be a part of this next year. I will keep my eyes open. But once again, please check out Seven Ten Oil. Thank you. Les
