Bio Ventura County hometown favorites! This is the TRUE story of four friends and brothers working ever so hard for the last 5 years. Since 2004, constant self promoting and against the odds, AWOL STAR has made a name for themselves in Ventura County as one of the few bands with true standing power. This band brings a sound that just makes you forget about your bad day and puts you back in that groove. Oh, but lets not forget the incredible and energetic live shows. With the release of their EP "Take Your Best Shot" under their belts, they have reached a new high, selling out venues, making music videos, and catching the eye of the press. They were featured in the V.C. Reporter and No Cover Magazine stating “A distinctive blend of alternative and pop rock coupled with an innovative EP, Take Your Best Shot, makes AWOL STAR the band to listen to!” The band opened for Jive Record’s very own, The Dares, and months later AWOL STAR also got nominated in the 2009 Maverik Awards in the categories of: Best Hard Rock Song of the Year, Best Punk Song of the Year, and Best EP of the Year.
